Transforming healthcare delivery

When Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust sought to optimise the use of critical medical equipment across three hospitals, it selected a system to automate the tracking of more than 2700 assets that are an integral part of providing high-quality patient care.

Established in 2002, half a million people from the Wakefield and North Kirklees districts of West Yorkshire use the Trust’s three main hospitals: Pinderfields in Wakefield, Dewsbury and District Hospital and Pontefract.

Services are also provided from a range of community settings such as health centres, clinics, GP surgeries, family centres and in people’s own homes. On an average day, more than 600 people attend the Trust’s emergency departments and over 1300 are seen in its outpatient departments.

The Trust has an annual income of more than £455 million and employs nearly 8000 staff.
