Fracture blueprint

Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Harry Burns, will present a blueprint for the future treatment and management of fractures resulting from falls or from osteoporosis at a conference in Edinburgh in May.

Over 300 representatives from the medical and caring professions from across the UK and Continental Europe are expected to attend the two-day conference at the Edinburgh Conference Centre at Heriot- Watt University.

The Next Steps conference, to be chaired by Professor Jimmy Hutchison, Regius Professor of Surgery at Aberdeen, will bring together experts from the field of falls, fragility fractures and osteoporosis. It has been organised by a partnership between the National Osteoporosis Society, the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry Scotland.
