With the NHS under increasing pressure to deliver services in a timely and effective manner, this latest report from the King’s Fund offers a reminder that funding is just one of many factors affecting the quality of patient care.

The authors looked in detail at four services – testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, district nursing, elective hip replacement and neonatal care – to explore the impact of financial pressures on patient care.
