OrthoView plans to extend its range of clinical functionality by working with True Life Anatomy (TLA) to provide 3D visualisation with trauma fracture reduction and 3D templating for specialised orthopaedic procedures.
True Life Anatomy, by the integration of 3D object mapping and animation techniques, provides a representation of the dynamics of the body as never before.
John Chambers, CEO of OrthoView, says: “Working with True Life Anatomy will give our customers access to sophisticated 3D surface rendering technologies where the complexity of the procedure warrants planning and templating in 3D.”
The new agreement will address and assist clinicians in overcoming the ongoing problem of accessing imaging data from PACS through the use of True Life Anatomy 3D images to improve diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr Michael Sandow, orthopaedic surgeon, who has been working with the TLA developers commented: “It really tackles an area of need as the image delivery becomes increasingly digital.” Laird Varzaly, CEO of TLA added: “We’re very excited about working with OrthoView, whose large orthopaedic centric customer base, and diverse routes to market, will give a huge number of surgeons access to our products.”
OrthoView is a world leader in digital orthopaedic planning products and the cooperation with True Life Anatomy forms part of OrthoView’s wider initiative to bring a comprehensive set of clinical applications to the orthopaedic community. John Chambers adds: “Our aim is to provide an orthopaedic surgeon with a wide range of clinical functionality in a logical and consistent manner, with seamless connectivity to multi-vendor PACS platforms.”
