Smarter endoscopy solutions

AQUILANT ENDOSCOPY, the exclusive provider of Fujifilm endoscopy equipment in the UK, supported the BSG Annual Meeting at Liverpool's ACC venue between 20-23 June 2016, by launching a range of new solutions and sponsoring a number of key initiatives, including:

  • The launch of the new OMOM Capsule Endoscopy System.
  • EndoRings2 device to assist with adenoma detection rates.
  • Meditalia Itaflex range of endoscopic accessories.
  • Sponsorship of the breakfast symposium entitled ‘Quality Colonoscopy in 2016' .

The new innovative OMOM capsule is smarter than ever before. Light and compact, it harbours an image sensor with an enduring 10-hour battery life. Its LED light system ensures an even light distribution and optimal illumination, and the robust belt antenna system fits the human contours comfortably and saves preparation time. Additionally, the system is simple to use, helping to efficiently streamline the work flow of busy endoscopy units while at the same time providing the clinician with accurate diagnostic feedback.

Matt Aronow, marketing manager for Aquilant Endoscopy, explained: "It's exciting to be launching innovative new products like the OMOM capsule. Aquilant prides itself on being the partner of choice for both clinicians looking for innovative solutions, and businesses looking to introduce new endoscopic devices to the UK market.

"At the event, we also took the opportunity to showcase the latest version of EndoRings," continued Aronow. "Using two flexible rings rather than three, the new EndoRings2 device provides a marked reduction in the resistance encountered by the user on intubation, with no noted decrease in the effectiveness of the device itself."

Further solutions that were displayed on the stand included the latest products from Fujifilm, stents from Taewoong, a CO2Efficient Endoscopic Insufflator from US Endoscopy and the Meditalia Itaflex range of endoscopic accessories. Over the last few years, the endoscopy market has taken great strides in the imaging capabilities of endoscopes, enabling users to identify and classify disease to a far greater degree than was previously possible without the help of a pathologist. To coincide with these developments, there are a range of new devices available to assist endoscopists in their quest
