Solutions for pressure ulcer prevention

At the recent Tissue Viability Society conference in Cardiff, TALLEY launched its new product literature and an interactive, tablet based, interface pressure educational Applet. The new brochure focuses on the top of the range Quattro Therapy Mattress Systems and it highlights the clinical benefits these products can offer healthcare providers who are actively seeking to reduce their pressure ulcer incidence.

An important part of the new brochure focuses on the ability of the Quattro Therapy Mattresses to redistribute pressure during their 1-in-4 cell cycle.  Talley has recently implemented a totally new interface pressure test protocol and the results from extensive testing performed in the development laboratory at Talley’s Romsey head office are reported in the brochure.

The interface pressure educational applet offers customers a fully interactive way of understanding the pressure redistribution capabilities of a range of support surfaces from static support surfaces, to hybrid mattresses and active, mattress replacement systems. The rationale for doing this work and presenting it in this way is to help customers understand how different support surfaces work with regard to pressure redistribution.  By helping to educate customers about the differences between support surfaces it will enable them to identify the products which offer the greatest levels of pressure redistribution and to align the products they use to the patients they care for.

Operations director, Kevin Mearns, said: “Talley is not only fully committed to bringing the best possible mattresses to market but we also want to ensure that these products are evaluated in line with the best possible test protocols.

“It is important to us that we not only showcase the clinical benefits our products can offer but we also help educate customers to ensure they understand just why our products are so effective.  The new interactive applet focusing on interface pressure and presenting our new test data is the perfect way of educating customers about our mattresses.”
