Medical equipment technologies training

AVENSYS’ Training Academy Diploma in Medical Equipment Technologies is aimed at people in full-time employment, running for approximately 18 months, on a part-time basis. It is focused on developing additional skills, knowledge and understanding in medical technology in the workplace.

The course includes IHEEM membership for the course duration, lectures and seminars from industry specialists, access to an online library and course text book loan scheme and peer mentoring. A number of one/two-day weekend practical-based sessions and assessments form part of the Diploma, which take place in the purposebuilt Avensys Training Academy, based in Worcestershire. The accommodation fee is included in the course cost, for the sitebased teaching and assessment sessions.

Achievement of this Diploma will allow access to the final year of a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Management. As this is a work-based, distance/blended learning course a variety of approaches to teaching and learning will be utilised to reflect the academic level, content and outcomes. 

The Diploma launched with 14 delegates in March 2015. The second cohort is underway, started in September 2015, with 24 delegates. New students can apply from March 2016. In addition, students registering for the Avensys Training Academy Level 5 Diploma in Medical Equipment Technologies can now apply for a Professional and Career Development Loan through the government Skills Funding Agency.
