Table optimised for robot-assisted surgery

TRUMPF MEDICAL SYSTEMS has worked with Intuitive Surgical, the company behind the da Vinci robotic system, to develop the TruSystem 7000dV – a table that meets the specific needs of robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgery.

There are several specific risks associated with minimally invasive surgery and one of those is nerve injury and postoperative pain caused by inaccurate patient positioning. The inability of traditional tables to lower sufficiently to allow all equipment to be accommodated above the surgical site was identified as a significant contributor to this problem.  So too was the lack of a steep Trendelenburg position to provide optimum anatomical access.

The TruSystem 7000dV therefore allows an extra low operating height of 580 mm and an extreme range of Trendelenburg positions – up to 45 degrees for all patient weights up to 450 kg – for superior anatomical access.  This is also complemented by the table’s Y-shaped base that provides an exact fit with the da Vinci Si patient side kart. This totally safe but extreme positioning is complemented by Iso Center Motion that combines Trendelenburg movement and longitudinal slide into one.  This moves the patient around a virtual pivot point maintaining a static surgical site and also saves time during patient repositioning during robot assisted surgery.
