Faster cycle for sterilisation

ASP (ADVANCED STERILIZATION PRODUCTS), a JOHNSON & JOHNSON company, installed the first STERRAD NX Sterilization system in the UK two years ago.

The STERRAD NX System is based on the same proven low-temperature hydrogen peroxide gas plasma technology pioneered by ASP with its earlier STERRAD 100S and STERRAD 200 Systems. The compact size of the STERRAD NX System means that it can be used conveniently in a sterile service department (SSD) or near the point of use.

David Campbell, European director of strategic market development, says, “The STERRAD NX System allows instruments to be used safely and immediately after sterilization. There is no need for a lengthy aeration phase to remove toxic residues.

The new STERRAD NX System uses innovative concentration technology, which results in a much faster cycle time. At the end of the process the gas plasma breaks down the hydrogen peroxide, leaving water and oxygen as by-products.”
