FUJIFILM and AQUILANT ENDOSCOPY will be launching information and storage technology for UK Endoscopy services at BSG 2014.
Aquilant Endoscopy predicts that the new system from Fujifilm, known as Synapse NX, will revolutionise information transfer and retrieval of endoscopy records, increasing efficiency and handling of patients’ cases. “This technology should quickly lead to more rapid diagnosis and treatment,” comments Aquilant’s general manager, Andrew Dawe.
Available exclusively through Aquilant Endoscopy, the digital storage system fully integrates with the information systems within both the individual endoscopy department and its host Hospital Information Systems (HIS). The technology takes a holistic approach to the endoscopy process within hospitals, from the moment an order is generated from the hospital’s central information systems, scheduling procedures and appointments, admissions and recording of patient arrivals, through the examination process itself which includes high definition video records of procedures and staff/patient handling, right through to the comprehensive reporting and recording processes. In this way, Synapse NX links hospital workflows and departments so that they can share digital images (photo and video) taken from screening procedures, eliminating the need for physically transporting hard documents between departments and helping to remove the risk of vital data loss.
