Taking place at Manchester Central (Exhibition and Conference Centre), The British Society of Gastroenterology annual meeting (16-19 June 2014) will tackle a wide range of topical issues in gastroenterology – from improving the availability of 24/7 Acute Upper GI Bleeding (AUGIB) services, to the promotion of better alcohol services.
The Clinical Services Journal provides an insight into some of the key themes and highlights.
The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) Annual Meeting 2014 takes place in Manchester, the city that witnessed what is widely regarded as the birth of the NHS when Aneurin Bevan opened the City’s Park Hospital on 5 July 1948. Almost 56 years later, the shape of clinical services and the challenges and demands facing health services are almost unrecognisable compared to those in the early days.
The BSG Annual Meeting 2014 will tackle many of these challenges, providing an opportunity for thousands of clinicians and experts in the field to gather and exchange ideas and learn more about best practice. High on the agenda will be the latest innovations in clinical practice and research, ensuring that gastrointestinal and liver disease services lead the way in the face of rising pressures and clinical challenges.
