Nuclear to Health (N2H), a new project designed to match clinical unmet needs from the NHS with expertise and technology from the nuclear industry, is inviting healthcare professionals to be a part of the first project of its kind in the UK by submitting unmet clinical needs which might benefit from an innovative solution.
Facilitated by Trustech, a leading NHS innovation service, N2H aims to improve patient care and drive efficiency savings by identifying potential innovative solutions through encouraging dialogue between the NHS and experts from industry and academia.
Adrian Warner, business development manager at Trustech explains: “Nuclear to Health is the first project of its kind in the UK, and focuses on matching nuclear technology and expertise to NHS healthcare priorities and unmet needs. The project has already revealed some promising ideas from discussions at our initial engagement event back in March, and we hope moving forward we will identify and start to develop scalable solutions for NHS organisations across the UK.”
N2H is inviting healthcare professionals and nuclear experts from industry or academia to participate in a series of forum meetings from 11-12 June 2014 in Penrith, Cumbria. These forums will cover three themes: radioisotopes and radiation physics in medicine; patient safety and ‘never events’; resource utilisation and telehealth.
