Neonatal resuscitation unit

INDITHERM MEDICAL are featuring a novel resuscitation unit, LifeStart, at Medica 2013. The product is designed to facilitate delayed cord clamping (DCC) by providing resuscitation at the bedside.

One of the dilemmas facing clinicians is the conflict between the advantages of DCC and the need to resuscitate the newborn baby. Traditional resuscitation units are not suitable for use at the delivery bedside, thus requiring the umbilical cord to be cut to allow the baby to be treated. LifeStart overcomes the issue due to its compact design and ability to deliver all the required functions close enough to the mother to permit the umbilical cord to be left intact for the critical first few minutes. Inditherm CEO, Nick Bettles comments “The evidence for DCC is compelling and we are delighted to be leading the market with this innovative design.” Inditherm can be found in Hall 16, Stand 16G20-6.
