BMI Healthcare has launched a comprehensive weight loss service for private patients.
Ian Smith, chief executive of General Healthcare Group, of which BMI Healthcare is a subsidiary, commented: “Overcoming obesity is a national priority that is currently under-provided by public sector services. Our new weight loss service bridges that gap in provision, delivering a real option and a positive solution for individuals who have suffered or risk suffering health problems because of their weight. It gives private patients access to the best medical support and treatment, in line with our philosophy of highest quality, personalised private patient care, and continual advancement of best practise and clinical standards.”
Both gastric banding and gastric bypass are available after a thorough clinical assessment of the patient’s eligibility and clinical needs. Teams of leading consultant bariatric surgeons, dieticians and specialist nursing staff working in modern facilities with advanced technology, provide personalised service in a comfortable, caring environment.
Initially offered in 15 of BMI Healthcare’s 49 private hospitals as part of a national roll-out, the service will be extended in line with local market needs. A dedicated information line and website has been launched so patients can readily access reliable information and expert advice about their weight loss choices.
