Process Manager, WASSENBURG’s proprietary software, could be used to help hospital endoscopy departments achieve best practice.
Decontamination units in many parts of the UK are already using the programme to safely and securely carry out a number of key tasks including:
• Registration and real-time monitoring of the processes in Wassenburg washerdisinfectors and drying cabinets.
• Providing full traceability data relating to patient, scope and process operator.
• The tracking of all endoscopes in use in real-time through the decontamination process.
• Enabling all data to be accessed via the internet (including Trust-wide access across multiple sites).
“Process Manager gives staff and management a suite of user-friendly tools providing statistical data for equipment, operators, consultants and patients”, said John Crispin, managing director of Wassenburg UK. “The Rapid Review of Endoscopy was released earlier this year by NHS Improvement to enable services to achieve best practice. It emphasised the need for good data collection and planning - and some hospitals are already picking up on the fact that Process Manager’s data collection and tracking ability can help units to optimise their effectiveness.”
