Endoscope reprocessing specialist, WASSENBURG MEDICAL DEVICES B.V. has unveiled a strategic alliance with endoscope supplier PENTAX Europe. The Netherlandsbased company is a leader in the field of endoscope reprocessing.
Its UK operation, Wassenburg Ltd, provides NHS and independent hospitals with a range of AERs suitable for both large and small decontamination units. The Dutch company now exclusively distributes its high performance equipment in Germany through Pentax, which also provides technical support and service for new and installed Wassenburg endoscope washer disinfectors and drying/conditioning cabinets. “We now combine the strengths of our specialism of endoscope washing and disinfection with innovative knowledge in the field of endoscopy from Pentax,” said Ronald Wassenburg, managing director of Wassenburg Medical Devices B.V. “The leading edge Pentax products and state-of-the-art Wassenburg endoscope reprocessing systems and software programmes are a winning combination.” John Crispin, managing director of Wassenburg Ltd, said that the strategic alliance between the two companies matched perfectly with the high standards required in Germany – and was also of interest to the UK market. “Healthcare budgets are tight in the UK and providers need to know that their suppliers are well-funded, well-organised companies with strong financial support and global alliances,” he said. “It is likely that this collaboration will lead to the introduction of next level products for endoscope reprocessing in hospitals and clinics in Germany and any new technology advances will quickly feed through to the UK.”
