Bedpan macerator offers environmental benefits

Bedpan macerators are used in nearly all UK hospitals as the preferred bedpan handling method.

HAIGH machines are proven to deliver reduced infection levels, significant benefits in terms of the environment and running costs, as well as time savings for staff. The Solo macerator disposes of bedpans, urine bottles and other pulp items into the standard drainage system using cold water and a small amount of electricity. The Panaway disposes of up to four items with a touch-free opening. With only 16 litres of water used per cycle compared to 24 litres with many other machines, hospitals could achieve significant savings.
